Freewheeling may not be for everyone, but it was for these people.

Ashley & Ben

FREEWHEEL started because of Ashley & Ben. They wanted to go on a surprise vacation to celebrate their first anniversary.  They hoped to get to the airport and just GO somewhere, anywhere, together for a long weekend to remind themselves to be present with each other.  They went to the airport with carry-on bags and craving adventure and asked the sales associate at their favorite airline counter for "today’s cheapest round trip ticket out of town!" 

"ummmmm that's not how this system works." was the sales reps reply.  Turns out airlines don't allow you to simply search by price without heed to destination.  My friends proceeded to pick cities and compare prices at the desk.  After an hour of hemming, and hawing and comparing prices and flight times, they settled on their destination.  They purchased tickets, moved through security and hustled over to their gate, the stress of travel planning back in their bodies.  

They enjoyed their trip, but felt that some sense of the excitement  was taken away by making suggestions for the flight.  They truly wanted to be surprised together.  They wanted their destination to remain a mystery to both of them until the very last minute possible.  

From that year forward, we pick their destination, purchase their flights and send them on their way to the airport with an envelope with the details of their surprise long weekend hidden inside.  .
